I’ve spent the better part of twenty years behind the camera, but I actually started out in design. I still think and see like a designer, and it continues to shape how I create.
I learned photography on film, which taught me to slow down, get it right in camera and choose quality over volume. That approach has stayed with me.
What keeps me curious is the creative problem behind the image — taking an idea and figuring out how to bring it to life through light, composition and craft.
The longer I do this, the more I find myself asking: What is this image meant to do? How should it make someone feel? Why should anyone care?
For me, that’s where the interesting work begins.
